Motivation could hit from any side of the road, sometimes when you are least expecting. As a Motivational Speaker, I have used movies, songs, ads, sports, stories and what not – to drive home the point I am trying to make to my audiences. And the aim as always, is to make them laugh. Because I truly believe – life is not to be taken too seriously. It is going to come to an end sooner or later. Might as well give and receive joy, be playful and have fun while going through it. You ought to leave a legacy. Why not leave a happy one!

I read a lot, to be able to connect myriad concepts together and bring about quality content for my audiences and clients. And here are 10 really awesome motivational blogs I swear by. I keep coming back to them frequently. Some of them help me with blogging, some help me with business reviews and stories, some blogs help me stay up to date with the best research happening all around, and some of them are just simply fantastic when it comes to stories and motivation.

Sharing this list of motivational blogs with you in the hope — that you never run out of joyful words, when you have read all of mine 😉 –

1. Lifehack.org

It is one of the first blogs that agreed to accept a guest post from me! They are brilliant. You will find a plethora of topics ranging from motivation to personality development, stories, tips and tricks, great content on relationships, how to handle stress in current times, becoming a better person, a better communicator – and much more.

Their list is just endless. And the best part is – you can write for them too! If you think you have something meaningful and inspirational to share with the world, Lifehack is the place for you 🙂

Technology Entertainment and Design. Yes, it is not named after a guy called TED, if that’s what you thought all these years. True to their name, TED has a vast vast pool of content online. From inspiring videos to amazing blogposts, TED is committed to bringing you the best of the best.

Some of their videos are phenomenal. They cover innovations and ideas that have helped made the planet a better place. 3. INK Talks

That’s the Indian chapter of TED. INK stands for Innovation and Knowledge. And they are every bit as outstanding.

Brilliant and beautiful, Lakshmi Pratury is the convener of INK. And she has done a brilliant job of bringing the best minds of India together and giving them a platform to share their good work. Like TED, INK too has a fellowship program where they build a community of innovators with brilliant stories and give them an opportunity to expand their work.

INK also has numerous outreach programs, including a partnership with Google for the One Billion Online project which aims at increasing the internet outreach in India. But it really is the stories they bring to light that are so inspiring. Watch Ayesha Chaudhary’s most inspiring talk on INK.

4. Huffington Post

It is not just a news site. They have well-written articles and stories that one might normally miss out if they focus too much on the mainstream media.

There is a Huffington Post for every country that features some of their best news and stories. Helps with insights about the cultures, opinions, ways of life. And let me tell you – all of it helps, when it comes to inspiration.

5. Wall Street Journal

My one stop shop for the best business news. I do a lot of corporate events and WSJ helps me keep abreast with the hap-happenings of the business world. Organizations, companies, departments, teams, individuals – and their stories.

Specially for events high on sales and marketing concepts, WSJ is like a one stop shop to gather information from a wider geographic range. Not to mention, well written articles that not only help in building content and research, but also spruce up your own writing skills!

6. Quick Sprout

It is handsdown, one of the best blogs on content marketing that I have come across. I have to thank Neil Patel for the rich, dense, long, exhaustive ideas on building a blog through content, improving SEO and reaching out to my community.

I recommend anyone who asks me about digital marketing to definitely read Quick Sprout. And Neil Patel, the author, also has some brilliant insights on entrepreneurship, life hacks and living – which are equally worth the while of any reader. If it is digital and content you seek, Neil Patel is your guy.

And this is your blog 🙂 – quicksprout.com

7. Harvard Business Review

For all good things research, this is my go-to place.

From great management and HR policies, sales techniques, psychology and neuromarketing research to the best on marketing that happens in the academic labyrinths, this covers all. Published by Harvard University, it is a great portal for management cases as well – which are a great tool for finding meaningful content for my corporate audiences.

8. Your Story

I just love this blog. Stories of success and failure, from the Indian entrepreneurs, it truly embodies the spirit of ‘Make in India’.

YS has some of the best entrepreneurial journey stories you will come across. It is a community where entrepreneurs and business owners help each other out, lend support and share knowledge and experience. Some of the best start-up owners and experts write on YS about their start-up experiences and help mentor the beginners.

As an entrepreneur myself, it is heartening to know that help is always out there in the form of a dedicated platform of like-minded people. And what more – it is also available in various Indian languages for the local entrepreneur to make use of the content too.

10. Isha Foundation

Isha Foundation is a very well known spiritual organization based out of Mysore, India. It’s founder, Sadhguru Vasudev Jaggi is an enlightened Guru dedicated to spreading the wisdom of self-realization and consciousness.

His blogs and videos are a must watch – for those trying to understand the inner depths of their body, mind and soul. He is not only learned but also humorous and extremely logical at the face of all things ignorant that is rampant in our society today.

While there are many organizations that talk about the same truths, (because well, truth remains the same), Sadhguru’s words are quite easy to understand and implement. If you are looking to demystify the spirit, the Isha foundation blog is a good place to begin!
