India is perhaps the only country where the largest numbers of people first become Engineers / MBAs and then decide ‘What they want to be in their lives’. We usually pick up trends / road most travelled because — it is safe, tested & gives us an illusory feeling of ‘belonging to the mainland’. This motivational TEDx video from SIBM, Bangalore is an attempt to share my story of having done a PG in Fashion from NIFT, New Delhi & then going on to become a Motivational Speaker & a Corporate Trainer.
We invented ‘Zero’. Guess we also invented ‘Timepass’ , ‘Day Dreaming’ & ‘planning which usually FAILS’.
How so very often have we wanted to change things in our life, also knew the methods & ways to achieve the change but just could not find the force & self discipline to CHANGE.
We have all the answers in this highly communicative age. Kya karna hai, Kaisey karna hai: Sab pata hai ! Then why is it that it so happens that :-
My work gets me a chance to meet many genres of people. ‘We just DO NOT want to be HAPPY. We want to be MOVING’– is my strangest observation about my fellow voyagers. Even if you are an IIT / IIM working in a corporate or an IAS or a top doctor or a student in a college or even a housewife — I have found my observation to be true with majority junta. ‘We just DO NOT want to be HAPPY. We want to be MOVING.

My work- travel gets me to meet some very fantastic people at times. I have come across people like Anna Hazare, Richard Branson, Julia Roberts, sporting icons etc. But one of them stands way apart in terms of his story, grit, determination & most importantly, the extent to which Vicky Roy inspired me.
